PASTORAL COMMITTEE MINUTES

Monday, April 19, 2010

7:15 pm.

Present: Father Charlie, Elaine Stemmler, Mary Delaney, Melanie Carothers, Marilyn Eby,

Absent: Marg McCauley

• Father opened with prayer

• UPDATES:

  • Communion: April 25, there were 14 children in the group, they no longer have a social after the Mass.  However, they do have something at the meeting at the school the week before.  The teachers look after it.

  • Catechetical: We continue to have classes after the 9:00 am mass for children attending public school.

• CHARITABLE DONATIONS:

  • We donated $5,465.00 and have also promised $1,000.00 in reserve to Carmel Hospital.

• NEW BUSINESS:

  • Visiting the bereaved: - we must find someone who will continue to visit. There is a new book available to give out also. I will talk to Grace Dietrich.

  • Mandate of pastoral committee: will remain as is.

  • Prayer circle: Needs to be updated. Marilyn and Lucy will do this.

  • Mass for the Sick: Nov. 14, - we should ask Father Fred First and if he is unavailable we can ask Father Charlie.

  • Parish Directory: it needs to be updated if that is what the parish wants.  We need to talk to people and wait until Father Dan comes to get his thoughts on this.
