PENITENTIAL SERVICE
· Small number of participants
· 3 Priests works very well
· Weather was fine so not sure while the numbers are down
PALM SUNDAY
· Just ran out of Palms so we need to order one more package of 100
· We almost had a gridlock at the 11am mass but it was fine. We had more people in the procession.
· The new lectionary has only one part for the speaker.
TAIZIE SERVICE
· We had a nice turnout for the service a little over 100
· This is the 8th time we have had this service at our church
· Thank you to Patti for organizing this very meaningful service
HOLY THURSDAY
· We like the post communion meditation
· 10:00 pm for the meditation time. This seemed to be long enough.
· The servers practice before was very helpful for things to run smoothly.
· We like the sign up sheet for the washing of the feet. This seems to work well.
GOOD FRIDAY
· Suggestion that we have the veneration of the cross at the end of the service and this would be quieter after the service.
· We can tell the people that after they venerate the cross they may leave quietly.
SILHOUETTE STATIONS - YOUTH
· Silhouette stations of the cross by the youth went well
· 8:00 is a good time for this.
· The youth were ok with the way we had them stay for supper after but no over night fast. This was a good way for them.
EASTER VIGIL
· It was too windy to light the fire outside and only used a small candle to light then lit the Easter candle with that fire.
· Reading went well with the 8 readers and everything went smoothly.
· Only 57 people in the congregation for this service.
· The 2 hour service may be a reason but this is a beautiful service and it should continue.
EASTER SUNDAY
· The music was very nice and really adds to the service, especially the trumpet.
PARISH PICNIC
· September 12, the Rod and Gun club is booked.
· This will be planned through the summer
NEW BUSINESS
· We will see if we can use less lilies for Easter because we had some people complaining about the perfume from the lilies.
· We will try to fill in with Mum plants and just a few large lilies with the Hydrangea
COMMUNION UNDER BOTH SPECIES
· We will have it at Corpus Christy and then discuss it at the next meeting.
REPORT ON THE NEW ORGAN
· Jim Gehl made a presentation up-date on the organ quotes.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, September 21st. at 7:30.
Closed with prayer at 9:00 pm.
